When you hear the term “Web3” or “Web 3.0,” you might be amused by
its touted potential and even experienced its powers firsthand. It is where user data is
decentralized across a network (blockchains) that makes manipulation and change of data
impossible by anyone. While Web3 is a conglomerate of various emerging technologies, its
foundation is solely based on blockchain’s distributed ledger technology (DLT). These
digital ledgers have given rise to multiple applications, including cryptocurrencies and
non-fungible tokens. Even business platforms that are use cases of Web3 applications, such
as Web3 wallet creation, have become part of the future internet.
